Check out the Titan Missile diagram. Also: I see a rotary phone dialer, but where is the handset?

That could be the speaker across to the right - or mebe the term "dialling in the coordinates" could be a legacy from this ancient missile control panel ... where they literally used a phone to enter missile destination coordinates!

Cool photo. One of the other pics in the set shows a similar console with a corded handset hanging down in front, below the flat work surface. I guess that leaves more space free on top.
